Why: So…I’m a huge Bowie obsessive. I have to restrain myself from posting his entire catalog. But this is a perfect song to celebrate drag and ballroom. Bowie was making videos before anyone else (and before MTV), and this one was a big deal. Because (gasp) Bowie appears in drag, and uses several moves from ballroom queen. He was always one to showcase gender fluidity, and here he brings in queer joy and irony.
